Meet Our ACIO
Paul Robles is currently the Director of Information Technology for the Division of Student Affairs and the Associate Chief Information Officer at the University of California, Berkeley. He is responsible for the strategic direction of technology that supports students and student services. Prior to UC Berkeley, he was the Senior IT Manager for Information Technology in the Division of Student Affairs at Texas A&M University, overseeing the strategy and consolidation of student service technologies while simultaneously reinvesting resources toward innovative solutions for students.
With over 20 years of experience in Higher Education technology, he has provided leadership to a variety of student services including Undergraduate Admissions, the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, the Registrar’s Office, Disability Services, Multicultural Services, Residence Life (with both on- and off-campus housing), University Health and Counseling Services, Recreational Sports, University Theater complexes (including audio/video production services), Student Activities, the Offices of the Dean of Student Life, University Art galleries and museums, early childhood education programs and day care centers, student computing, and campus-wide learning and resource centers.
Paul is a graduate of the Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University, with specific interests in information technology, logistics, and quality theory. He is the past chair of the UC Berkeley One IT Summit, an annual conference designed to engage the community to ‘Build the Future of IT.’ He has also been active for many years in EDUCAUSE.
Paul considers himself to be a Student Affairs professional and a student advocate who just happens to know a lot about technology.
